A Lifetime of British Motoring Heritage

My name is Russell, and my career has been defined by a single, unwavering focus: the engineering of MG and Rover vehicles. My journey began in 1976, as an apprentice at a local British Leyland dealer in my hometown of Knutsford, Cheshire. It was there, amidst the hum of the workshop, that I developed a deep and lasting appreciation for the unique character and innovative spirit of these cars.

I remained a brand loyalist and specialist through every evolution: from Austin Rover to the Rover Group, and ultimately, to the end of MG Rover. You could say I didn't just work on these cars—I grew up with them. Their triumphs were my triumphs, and their challenges became my own. When the factory gates at Longbridge finally closed in 2004, it felt like a personal loss.

This deep-rooted connection, coupled with a growing frustration at the lack of true specialist knowledge in the wider garage network, became the catalyst for MG Rover Solutions. I saw too many of these brilliant cars being misunderstood and improperly serviced. I knew they deserved better. I started by offering a unique, fully mobile head gasket replacement service—a definitive engineering solution, not a temporary fix—at a fraction of the cost of main dealers. This business was founded on a passion for the cars and a commitment to getting things right, a principle that remains at the core of everything I do today.
